THE WHO LIVE AT Woodstock Bethel, NY. 8/17/69 2 LP set
Excellent & historic performance and recording. At one point political activist Abbie Hoffman decided to interupt the show, and Pete Townshend whacked him with his guitar and spouted out a few chosen expletives and carried on with the set. That's just one of the crazy moments that makes up this wild and energized live concert.
I have owned this 2 LP set for close to 30 years, I played the whole thing once in the early 1980's and made a cassette recording of it then. The vinyl has very little actual plays as a result, since I used to listen to that tape a lot. The sides looks fine, but when it was originally pressed, there was some marks from the way in which it was manufactured, as well as some handwritten notes to indicate which side is which. The album cover is starting to show signs of age, but it is holding up and looks good. I have always loved this band, and this live set they did, it seemed to be a important time for the band to lock in with their fans. A very special document for sure. Tommy live, in front of a giant crowd.
