I have a Mono Copy of

Beatles for Sale

on Black/Yellow Parlaphone PMC 1240

KT tax code and "Parlaphone" credit on rim writing

complete with the correct & origonal Emitex rice paper inner sleeve in EX condition

Matrix numbers side A is : XEX 503-4N   & side B: XEX 504-4N

Acording to record collector this is a first press though usually first presses have a  3N ending matrix on side one..the second press was "stereo only" and the third press "Mono and Stereo" had "the Gramaphone company" on the Rim..whereas this copy has "the Parlaphone company" denoting an early press...my guess is that half way throught the first press run new Mothers and stampers were created to avoid sound quality deterioration  and this record is a very early press of that later run of the first press 

This copy of  beatles for sale has a very good pedigree as the Mother number at 9'O Clock in the dead wax in the runoff is 1(one) meaning that the stamper that made this record was made from the first Mother...the Stamper number at 3'O Clock is RLH which equals 287so the information on this record tells me that it was made as a second laquer by the 287th Stamper created by the 1st mother 

This record and cover are in Super condition and have been stored and played very little over the years

Condition of Record:  Looks EX...Plays EX+ both sides still have that barely used shine with very little in the way of surface marks, you have to look pretty darn hard to see any marks at all on side 2

Side 1 does have a few visible light surface marks...but no feelable scratches are visible on either side, altogether a very clean playable copy with very little in the way of background noise (listening through Bose headphones) i can hear a feint background noise and feint occasional crackling between tracks.. but all is near pefect whilst the Music is playing

 The record plays very nicely on both sides...this is the best looking and sounding example I have heard for a long time

Condition of labels: EX labels are clean and bright with no marks  KT tax code on side one label 

Condition of the Cover: EX  great condition cover with very little in the way of wear, front and rear images are clear and bright, strong readable seam (there is a small wear patch that has obscured the T&L in Beatles on the  so it reads "bea es for sale"...there is very small amount of corner wear on the front cover...and a coupler of small dents in the back cover to the right of Georges head which have not penetrated the laquer...there has been a very well done repair to a small 1" long rip to the bottom area were the LP is inserted into the sleeve very common on this type of sleeve (you have to examine the cover pretty hard to see the repair) there is light visible marks in the laquer on the front cover where the corners have been bent slightly.

No sticker damage sellotape/pen marks or rips

This One is  definately a Keeper...you wont be needing another copy in a hurry...its not a perfect museaum standard  as it has the light marks mentioned on side 1 and some general light wear to the cover but oveall a stunning copy

I always mail my records in proper hard card record mailers with cardboard inserts for extra support So your record will arrive to you in the same condition it leaves me

"MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
