Description
This is one of the very first copies of the iconic single by The Undertones, this is the release that was done by Good Vibrations records that was played by John Peel before the lads were signed to Sire records.
OK now for some info on this single, there were approx 7000 copies of the record allegedly produced in several colours, including pink, white , green, blue and probably a couple of others, but what makes this copy very rare is the fact that on the very first runs, when the sleeve was printed, the track listing was UPSIDE DOWN when folded, they hadn't noticed this until it was folded, this was corrected pretty quickly but the very first runs were issued with this sleeve, also the main picture inside is credited to " Undertones" as was the writing credits, but the single is stated as by "The Undertones", this was also changed on subsequent runs to just crediting the band as " Undertones" on the single and " The Undertones " on the inner sleeve picture.
The condition of both the single and the sleeve is really really amazing for its age, the pictures don't do it justice, there are no tears and very little discolouration as you can see from the pictures, the printing is still superb where the paper is folded, as it is intended.
