Thelonious Monk Thelonious alone in San Francisco Riverside blue DGThelonious Monk ' Thelonious alone in San Francisco ' RIVERSIDE RLP 12-312 (USA) blue small label with deep groove - rec. on October 1959 - issued in 1959 Record is autographed by Monk on front cover with the writing 'Good luck always Thelonious'.
Side 1 : Blue Monk - Ruby, my dear - Round lights - Everything happens to me (Matt Dennis) - You took the words right out of my heart (Robin-Rainger) Side 2 : Bluehawk - Pannonica - Remember (Berlin) - There's danger in your eyes, Cherie (Richman-Meskell) - Reflections All compositions by Thelonious Monk except as indicated
Visual grading : record is VG+ still with much lustre has several light surface marks on both sides but nothing deep or feelable Playing grading : record is Good+ to VG- even if the record is without evident scratches plays with a continuous background noise well audible mostly on side 1 also because the music is based on a piano solo Cover grading : cover is Good- has heavy water damage on bottom front and back also evident all along the spine and opening edges. Has wear to corners and more noticeable to spine. Very small seam split on top right corner (cm.2 or 1"). Autographed by Monk on front cover with the writing 'Good luck always Thelonious' positioned in the best possible part on top left corner. To be noted that is a Monk's signature!
