Description

Here is a copy of John Henry by They Might Be Giants on vinyl. Asbestos Records pressing from 2013, which is the only vinyl pressing of this album ever produced. I'm the original owner and have barely ever played this. Overall an excellent copy with specific condition notes below (I'm no record grader, so I'm not going to give this a grade. But hopefully my detailed description is enough for you to get a full sense of the condition).
Cover is in really good condition with the following exceptions (each point is shown in photos):

  • Top left corner has a small dent
  • Bottom right corner has a small crease
  • Bottom right corner has less than 1" of seam split
Vinyl is also in really good condition. Very glossy and barely played (Side A maybe has been played 3-4 times, Side B 1-2 times, Side C and D maybe 1 time each, if ever). I don't currently have anything to properly clean the vinyl, so it is slightly dusty (which you can see in the photos), but it just needs a good wipe and it should look nice and fresh.
The only real blemish is a light scratch on Side A that spans between tracks 2-4. I gave it a listen and can't hear any popping on that spot, but maybe somebody with better ears might catch something? All things considered it is a very minor scratch. See photos for my best attempt to capture it.
I didn't listen to the entire album before posting and cannot give an accounting for how every track sounds or the quality of the pressing. All I can tell you is that I have barely played this album since I bought it and it has only been played on above-average equipment and stored properly.

Quick update on condition: There are some light surface marks on side C and D that can be seen in the photos (I didn't notice it when holding the record up to light, but can now see it upon reviewing the photos). Not scratches, and you definitely can't feel them. From my experience this is just normal with a lot of vinyl.. as it is either like that from the manufacturer or as a result from just from living in a paper sleeve with dust and static. To my ear does not affect sound, but just wanted to mention so the description is as accurate as possible!
