Description
An original 1st press of Alchemy on the UK Harvest label from summer 1969. Matrix 1/1. Stampers 1O/1P - placing it amongst the first few thousand copies to roll off the press. Please note copies from the 1st month of release would not show the "Emi logo" - which will appear on pressings just a matter of months later. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover without printer credit. Also included is an original generic white inner from the time. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wowzers this really is a well preserved copy that has seen precious little use. And believe me, on this title, you really must have a perfectly preserved copy or you are going to be severely disappointed! Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of tiny marks - nothing remotely that would feature audibly. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. This particular title will put pressing quality and preservation levels under maximum scrutiny. Any copy exhibiting even a touch of background is going to severely impact the listening experience. You really need a totally clean copy which has no background at all. This copy has breathtaking fidelity and, thanks to said preservation levels, the audio just floats out of the speakers unhindered. I very much doubt you will find a copy even it's equal without some considerable search. We could only detect a couple of minor crackles in a couple of isolated moments. A beautiful rendition. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Vg+) Remains in nice shape and has been cared for down the years. The front is nice and clean with just a couple of tiny creases. The rear is in similar condition with just a couple of tiny age spots. The interior is ok, but there is a touch of staining down along the bottom edge - please note. Edge wear is reasonably light and the spine still mostly intact. The spine is a bit dirty, but most of the text is still legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) A couple of small marks. But no side splits.
