This Is Merseybeat - Volumes 1 & 2, UK Original Oriole Records LP’s . This pair of original albums is sold together in this auction.From 1963, these compilations featuring Liverpool bands from the early sixties is introduced by Bill Harry, a former classmate of John Lennon, and among the bands included is Rory Storm & The Hurricanes, Ringo Starr’s early Band . The records are on Oriole Records, catalogue numbers P.S. 40047 and 40048. Both albums are Mono. I will grade both albums as G to VG. There are plenty of marks, I have played both albums from start to finish and they play well. There is one small jump on Beautiful Dreamer, but other than a little bit of background noise occasionally, they are a good listen. The production is loud which helps. The labels are clean with the owners name written on them. The album sleeves VG, with just a little bit of wear on corners. I think this pair of collectible albums are an important part of the history of the Liverpool music scene from the early sixties. This will be a low start no reserve auction, and I hope that these will bring back exciting memories for someone. Many thanks for looking.
