Thorr’s Hammer – Dommedagsnatt LP
Short-lived Doom Metal band featuring members of SUNN o))), Burning Witch, Goatsnake and the founders of Southern Lord Records. For this one they teamed up with Norwegian vocalist Runhild Gammelsæter, whose vocal delivery – a mix of powerful, harsh Death Metal grunts and some haunting clean parts – is the star of the show here. ‘Dommedagsnatt’ contains the band’s only ever studio recordings (three songs) from 1995 as well as one additional live track. 32 minutes of crushing extreme Doom Metal with the massive production that is to be expected from the personnel involved. This is the 2009 re-press on Southern Lord Records on 180g clean vinyl, housed in a heavy cardboard gatefold cover and limited to 500 copies.
