This is a very rare record produced on a private label with very few copies made, possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity.
The record is on Alco Records, STEREO. ALC.530, 1st label pressing,- made in England
The record is in NM condition - looked unplayed when I was given it &only played twice since, beautiful clean playing surface when viewed in natural daylight, great stereo sound, top audio with vibrant sound for the songs, superb musicianship and inventiveness comes through clearly due to the quality of the sound quality, quiet in between tracks with some very light background, no skips, jumps or sticking
The labels are NM, clean, no writing with no signs of any spindle marks.
The fully laminated sleeve, printed and made by Debora Coombs is in EX+ condition, no splits or slight feathering to edges, clean spine. The surfaces of the sleeve show very little shelf wear and very minor record impression consistent with careful handling just some very minor creasing.
Inner plain sleeve is in EX, Made in England, no splits.

Threads of Life evolved as a result of the group ALCO being involved in a concept containing both rock & classical music. The idea of juxtaposing these different idioms was novel, but not as exciting as the decision to amalgamate the two in a new work to consist of a coherent cycle of three songs. Existing original material by the group was used as a base onto which additional material was superimposed for the orchestra which here includes saxophone, six timpani, amplified harpsichord and synthesiser. Both the group and the orchestra are heard separately as well as together and climatic sections are contrasted with passages from solo display. Although the scoring of a work for rock groups and orchestra is by no means a new idea, previous attempts have often resulted in the two forces remaining separate. We hope you will enjoy our combined attempt at such a 'synthesis'.
