Tin House - Tin House (Vinyl, 1971, Epic Records E 30511).
The self-titled debut by Tin House, a Texas power trio treading the well-worn early 70s blues-rock track.
Tin House is obscure, to the extent there's no Wikipedia entry for them. There is this album, and a self-produced 2009 effort, from what I can tell. Guitarist Floyd Radford appeared on various efforts by Johnny and Edgar Winter over the years.
This record was produced by Rick Derringer, and Edgar Winter contributes to a couple of tracks, so some prominent people thought Tin House was worthy.
Tin House comes in a non-gatefold jacket and a plain inner sleeve (not pictured). The jacket is doing pretty well for being 50 years old. There is corner, spine, and edge wear and some wear-through, but less than I'd have expected on the back, which is mostly white.
It's not a bad record. The songwriting is passable (lyrics often a bit preachy but in line with 1971 standards) and the musicianship is good (Floyd Radford can definitely play). What the record lacks, and why I'm sure it never did much commercially is any song that's a real grabber.
The record sounds good, and I didn't ever hear a crackle when I listened to it just now. Of course your super high-fidelity equipment may yield a crackle here and there. No pops, ticks, and no skips.
