Greetings.  Up for auction is self-titled 2xLP debut of the Tindersticks.  Released in 1993 by This Way Up (518308-1).
The gatefold COVER is VG-/VG.  There are no cut-outs or writing on the cover.  However (as can be seen in the photos) there is a 21/2" tear at the top of the cover.  As well the edges of the cover have sustained a fair amount of wear over the last 17 years.  The corners are slightly worn and softened.  On the front cover, the corner on the upper right hand side is dented (see photo).  Otherwise artwork remains in pretty decent condition.  One the upper right hand corner of the the front cover is a sticker which reads "tindersticks double album".
What I believe are the original black inner sleeves with a thin plastic inner coating are present.
In general I'd say the VINYL rates a VG/VG+.  On my turntable both discs sit flat. As well, both discs, visually look pretty nice; I see only a small amount of minor, hairline marks.  In general both pieces of vinyl sound nice. When I play them on my turntable, there are no skips or jarring pops.
Please read the following for a side by side grading based on having listened to both discs from beginning to end:
SIDE A VG+  Side A plays nice. One will likely hear occasional popping and crackling, mostly in between tracks and during the more quiet passages of songs. Whatever surface noise is present, I don't think distracts from the music.
SIDE B VG/VG+  Side B plays very much like Side A but with a bit more surface noise.  There is a light clicking that develops towards the end of the first song "City Sickness" which extends into the next song "Patchwork" but then clears up. There is also one noticeable pop midway through the disc but I don't think it's terribly distracting.
SIDE C VG+  Side C plays like Side A and possibly better. Side C does begin with some static-y surface noise at the very beginning but it clears up, giving way to a nice listen for the reminder of that side.
SIDE D VG  Side D plays with more surface noise than Sides A, B, or C.  There is a consistent popping that one will hear for the first 35-40 seconds of the first song, "Her". It's not cringe-inducing but could be annoying if one is wanting a really clean, clear sound. The popping is drowned out once the other guitars, bass and drums kick in.  Other than that, one will hear light surface through a large portion of Side D. At the very end of Side D light popping returns for the last 30 seconds or so of the last track, "The Not Knowing".
I've play graded these LPs in the effort to provide the most fair and accurate description of these records as I can.  Please do keep in mind, however, that different stereo systems may result in some variations in the listening experience.
If you have any questions about this LP, please do not hesitate to ask and I'll try to get back to as soon as possible.
Otherwise, thanks for having a look and, if you decide to bid, best of luck!
