Description
Attention record collectors.
What we have here is a one of a kind collector’s item. This is an original pressing on Mercury Records of the 1961 guitar instrumental album “Guitar’s Greatest Hits”.
This is a closest classic for sure. Someone filed this away and forgot about it. It has never been opened or played since it was pressed. Let me be clear - the sleeve is open because I assume they did not have shrink wrap in 1961 - but the record remains inside its original plastic bag, sealed and unopened for 51 years!!!!!!!! Truly amazing and an incredible find. Think of all the history that has occurred in those 5 decades while this record has been sitting on a shelf. A great conversation piece if nothing else.
If you decide to rip open and play this album you’ll find some excellent guitar playing by two of Nashville’s top players covering some classic guitar tunes by the Ventures and other artists of the day.
