Description
Prestige International 13026, “Orange Blossom Special” with Tommy Hunter’s Carolina String Band, from 1961 or 1962. Tommy Hunter, fiddle; Obray Ramsey, banjo & vocals; George Fisher, bass; Nan Fisher, guitar. Original orange-label DG vinyl plays at NM with virtually no background sound. Heavy laminated jacket is practically like new without seamwear, ringwear, corner wear, or bends; jacket back is almost pristine with a hint of age coloring, a factory stamp on at top back, and a small price code at lower right. Tracks are “Sally Gooden”, “Down in a Willow Garden”, “Gray Eagle”, “Orange Blossom Special”, “Bury Me Beneath the Willow”, “Fire on a Mountain”, “Bill Cheatum”, “Put My Little Shoes Away”, “Soldier’s Joy”, “Rabbit in the Log”, “Blackberry Blossom”, “Maggie”, and “Old Joe Clark”. This is one of the best renditions of the title track anywhere. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $14.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, and Australia; elsewhere inquire. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 per LP domestic, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail for $11.75 extra is strongly recommended. (Last year, a package to the Netherlands was lost in shipment, resulting in disappointment on both sides.) Many old records are now practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs will be mailed together in a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped.
