Tommy Whittle Quartet, Sax For Dreamers 1960s BRIT JAZZ
The Tommy Whittle Quartet, Sax For Dreamers.
With Kenny Powell, Lennie Bush, Peter Ind and Jackie Dougan. 1967 UK pressed mono LP on the obscure Masquerade record label, which was based at Old Brompton Road, London.Catalogue number: MQ 2000.
Early heavy vinyl pressing, black label with silver print, "Chappell Group Control" stamp to one side and MQ 2000 +A/MQ 2000+B matrices.
Vinyl in super condition. Hardly any evidence of marks around the spindle areas, and vinyl surfaces are free of marks save for about three barely visible superficial and non-sounding sleeve removal type hairlines. This LP has clearly been looked after and both vinyl and labels still have a nice as new sheen to them. Looks very little played.
Sleeve in clean, bright and complete condition. Note that any marks visible in the photo are reflections from the laminate, which still retains quite a rich gloss. The front only is laminated, and this still has a rich gloss with no peeling of the laminate. Tips and extremites are clean, crisp and without wear. No seam splits. The spine is still complete, uncreased and legible. The very few slight creases that are visible in the laminate covering appear to be products of manufacture rather than later handling. The rear is predominanty black with white print and unlaminated. Although this makes a very suitable candidate for wear over the years, this one has survived remarkably well. There are just touches of storage ringwear rubbing to very top and bottom, and a touch to the left hand side. The usual prominent circular mark has not shown its face.
All in all a really nice copy of this pretty obscure LP.
