This is a Tooth and Nail compilation LP on Upsetter Records of Los Angeles California from 1979. On a 10 scale the vinyl and jacket are a 9. It includes the liner with band info and lyrics. Chris D of the Flesheaters and Exene of X did the LP cover. Exene did the label. Chris D produced most of the bands,but John Doe of X and Chris D produced the Germs tracks with the Germs help(don't know if help is the proper word though). This is one of the first of the LA compilations from the time when punk was merging into hardcore. A great classic record. You get the Controllers who are abrasive but also a bit melodic. The Flesheaters play their fast/swamp blues/punk with Werewolf vocals. These are probably the rawest tracks they ever did and Exene sings on Pony Dress. UXA plays an upbeat punk driven by De Detroits vocals.I prefer these songs to anything they did later. Negative Trend do a full power punk that I'd agree was actual hardcore if you said so. Rik L Rik of F-Word is on vocals and Will Shatter soon to be of Flipper is on bass. Middle Class ,who like F-Word, already had a record out play a form of hardcore similar to their thrashy 7",a bit more musical this time maybe. The Germs(GI) are playing hardcore with 3 songs much better than "Forming". What is great about this record is that you have many of the crucial players in the formation of what would soon become California Hardcore(though Exene would have rather it stayed punk and not HC).. I mean Black Flag was already there at the Church and the Adolescents/ TSOL/Circle Jerks etc were coming in hot by 1980. This is our history. The songs are: Another Day, Electric Church,Jezebel-Controllers, The Word Goes Flesh, Pony Dress, Version Nation-Flesheaters,  Social Circle,UXA-UXA,  I Got Power,Mercenaries-Negative Trend, Love Is Just A Tool,Above Suspicion-Middle Class and  Manimal,Dragon Lady,Strange Notes- The Germs(GI).   . I play these (to grade them) on the cheapest turntable I can find so they may sound a little better on your turntable.Payment via Paypal or Cashiers Check. If you buy more than one item from me I will ship everything together and base shipping charges on the weight of the total package. I will ship all over the world. That means if the package is lost,due to there being no tracking,it is more or less impossible to find. Even more important is that there is no insurance on it,so if it is lost your refund money is lost. No refund on lost First Class packages. Think hard about shipping Priority. It is more expensive,but tracked and insured. So,even if the package was lost you get your money back. You have to decide if the risk of First Class is worth the money you save on shipping.That is up to you.   I have had some requests since doing this to ship the vinyl outside of the jacket instead of in it.
