On her seventh album, Tori returns to the form that gave her the masses of Tori fans in the days of "Little Earthquakes" and "Under the Pink". Tori's sound is more muted here than in the recent past, and her piano plays beautifully with the occasional growl in between. The songs grow with each repeated listen, just as a road trip grows with each mile. This album makes the most of Tori's versatile voice, with a sweet soprano in "Scarlet's Walk" and a slimy bite in "Pancake." The styles are also wide-ranging, with a lively piano two-step in “Wednesday” and the dreamy “Your Cloud.” The last song on the album, “Gold Dust,” is probably one of Tori’s most beautiful songs ever.
