Tracy Chapman - Tracy Chapman 1988 Vinyl LP VG(+) / VG(+)

I would conservatively grade this LP as a high VG. I can hear some audible light surface noise between tracks and during quieter passages, but it’s unobtrusive. I could hear the most light surface noise on the quiet closing track, “For You.” The record has been VPI cleaned and sounds quite good. Visually, I can see some very light sleeve marks visible under bright light. The first track on Side B has a couple light marks, but they do not affect play. There are no feelable scratches or anything like that. The jacket has a few small creases along the edges. There’s a larger crease (over 1 inch) on the bottom edge and one 2” crease on the top back cover corner. The bottom right corner has a small bump (pictured), as does the top right corner (also pictured). There’s also a very small trace of ring wear and some light wear on the bottom edge of the spine. The custom inner sleeve is rippled presumably due to some moisture exposure. No moisture is evident anywhere on the jacket or LP. Also note that there is some writing in pencil on the inside lip of the cover, which could probably be erased (pictured).

I grade LPs based on a conservative interpretation of the Goldmine standard. This means that a VG+ record is in very nice shape and should have little to no surface noise barring an occasional moment here and there. A record with sustained surface noise will be at best a VG. All records are play-graded since not all surface noise can be detected visually. All records are shipped in new Whiplash mailers with cardboard backing with the sleeved record outside of the jacket to prevent seam splits. I’ve been selling LPs on eBay since 1999 and have 100% positive feedback.

Below is more thorough info on my grading system:

NM condition. Surfaces essentially look new. This is the highest rating I give used records.
VG+ Very nice shape. May have a few stray very light hairlines and/or light paper scuffs visible under bright light. Will have little to no surface noise barring an occasional moment here and there. No feelable marks.
VG Has hairlines and/or paper scuffs and has audible surface noise particularly between songs and during quieter passages.
G+ Has more pronounced hairlines and paper scuffs and may have a few small feelable marks, but still no skips.
