Description
Traffic's 'Mr. Fantasy', their psychedelic masterpiece from 1967. A difficult Lp to find as a very 1st UK pressing...especially in Mono. What's even harder, is to find it in playable condition. I was very lucky to have found this a few years ago among a large collection of vintage UK Lps. I'm listing this for those who don't want to go through the anguish and frustration of bidding on a record and then finding out the condition is not as advertised once you receive it. The copy I'm offering plays beautifully and in my opinion, sounds better than the stereo version in this case. The phasing just sounds more natural and there is less unwanted reverb. This being the VERY 1st pressing, the detail in the playback is extremely evident. No digital format or reissue/remastered Lp can touch this one.
Condition of Lp jacket: VG+ to Excellent......some minor creases to the laminated surface, nothing major. Some of the corners have a bit of touching up but nothing offensive or distracting. No writing or dirt anywhere. Inner flip-backs are near perfect and considering this was made in 1967, it's nothing short of incredible.
Condition of original inner-sleeve: VG to VG+....this being the original delicate inner from 1967, still a very nice example.
Condition of record: Strong VG+ to Excellent....I believe most sellers would grade this as Excellent and leave it at that. I'm being VERY critical to avoid disappointment. Extremely limited surface noise (mostly in between the songs) This record plays beautifully and the sound is simply remarkable.
Condition of labels: Excellent....the fully and heavily 1st press "textured" labels are in superb condition.
Matrix numbers: ILP + 961 + A / ILP + 961 + B Very first MONO pressing.
European Buyers....please contact me for shipping rates/options BEFORE paying invoice...thanks.
