Description
TRANSATLANTIC TRA196: AMALGAM 'Prayer For Peace'
UK avant garde jazz rarity from 1969, this trio of musicians appears to have been much influenced by the Ornette Coleman Trio discs. Trevor Watts (as) composed all the themes and is well-served by his collaborators, Jeff Clyne (b) and John Stevens (d). This is an UK 1st Transatlantic stereo pressing with white/black printing and purple logo label. I do not think that there was a separate mono pressing of this.
* Barry Guy (b) replaces/joins(?) Clyne.
Side 1 'Hope - Judy's Smile'
Side 2 'Tales Of Sadness - Prayer For Peace *'
CONDITION/DESCRIPTION: The disc is EtoE+ (VG+toVG++) with a few very light scratches, visible under a bright 'grading' light. There is some surface dirt/dust. This disc would benefit from being cleaned. The cover is EtoE- (VG+toVG), with some surface rubbing/shadowing and some surface dirt. There is also extensive edge rubbing and minor corner damage. It is to be remembered that this was a very flimsy cover design and therefore it is very difficult to find a mint sleeve.
