Description
Near mint copy of The American Metaphysical Circus, a landmark psychedelic recording of the late 1960s by Joe Byrd and the Field Hippies. Columbia Masterworks MS 7317. It was recorded by Joseph "Joe" Byrd after his departure from the band The United States Of America, (see my other auctions) and featured some of the earliest recorded work in rock music utilizing extensive use of synthesizers and vocoder, This was one of the great psychedelic albums of all time and has recently attained genuine cult status. It sold poorly upon release so is thus quite rare today. Unusual in that it was a youth oriented 'rock' album released on the label's prestigious Masterworks label, lending it a sense of importance. Plays great, near mint after cleaning. I hear no scratching. Jacket is nice but bottom seam is starting to split. Rare promo copy. I ship records separately from their jackets in specially designed LP mailers via Media Mail unless requested otherwise. Records are played by me to verify condition.
