Description
Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart, 1977 UK pressing.
Both vinyl LPs are in pristine condition, no surface marks or scratches. They appear to be unplayed, although I cannot absolutely vouch for this. It's a strange thing, but I cannot remember where or when I acquired this album - indeed I was unaware that I actually possessed it on vinyl at all! (I haven't had a working record player since 1989.)
The sleeve too is virtually perfect, although there are two minor faults:
1. The spine is very sun-faded, being now a kind of off-white/very pale pink colour.
2. There is a faintly impressed line running from the right of the sleeve, across Beefheart's shoulder, and ending somewhere below his neck. It's as if someone once placed a sheet of paper on the sleeve and drew a pencil line, leaving the impression on the sleeve. You can only see this if you hold the sleeve at a precise angle so that the light catches it (see penultimate picture, above).
Matrix/Runout Details Side 1: K.64026.A1 (Stamped) W-3 KD ALLEN (Etched) Side 2: .64026.B1 (Stamped) W-2 KD ALLEN (Etched) Side 3: K.64026.C1 (Stamped) W-4 KD ALLEN (Etched) Side 4: K.64026.D1 (Stamped) W-4 KD ALLEN (Etched)
The label titles the band as: "Captain Beefhart And His Magic Band". This error is also repeated in the publishing credit as: "Beefhart Music".
Track 6, Side 1 (moonlight On Vermont) is mis-titled as Moonlight In Vermont Track 5, Side 4 (The Blimp) has the word "mousetrapreplica" added after in parentheses.
The photographs above are all of the actual record I am selling, not stock photographs. I always try to give as accurate information as possible, but if you would like more details or photographs, just ask and I'll be happy to oblige.
This album being difficult to find on vinyl these days, especially in this condition, I will only send guaranteed delivery and insured, hence the rather more expensive than usual mailing cost.
I will be listing quite a bit of vintage punk, post-punk and classic rock over the next week or two, so keep an eye open.
