Description

For sale we have a first pressing copy of The Tubby Hayes Quintet LP 'After Lights Out' from 1957 on the Tempo label, catalogue number TAP6.
This is a SUPER rare jazz album. This was Tubby’s UK debut album and is rarely seen in ANY condition. Without doubt one of his rarest EVER albums, it was released in 1957 on the acclaimed Tempo label synonymous with jazz and is highly sought after the world over by discerning Jazz collectors. Recorded in London on July 17th, 1956 Tubby is accompanied by Dickie Hawdon, Harry South, Pete Elderfield and Bill Eyden. Simply put, this album is a CRUCIAL piece of british jazz history.
The record is graded as good to very good condition. It has scuffs and scratches resulting in pops and clicks one would associate with a record that is almost 55 years old, however it plays fine all the way through with no jumps or distortion. The West Brothers laminated sleeve is also graded as very good condition. There is some discolouration to the rear. This doesnt really detract from the overall condition of the record and this album would make a fine addition to any serious Jazz enthusiast's collection.
