Description
Tudor Lodge
Tudor LodgeRare Italian sealed LP on the Akarma Label released in 00's. Cat.AK320LP. Official LP issue of one of the most venerated progressive hippy folk/rock/pop albums of all time, originally released in 1970 on Vertigo. Its striking artwork has made it much sought after by collectors, but the music is the main attraction here. Delicate, rather extravagant, and very original for the time the music of Tudor Lodge is characterized by complex arrangements featuring acoustic instruments with an excellent use of flute, acoustic guitars and impeccable female/male vocal harmonies. Tudor Lodge were a UK act featuring American members, and were fairly well known in the early '70's, thanks to their numerous live appearances, and in particular at the Cambridge Folk Festival in 1971. The eponymous debut album by Tudor Lodge taps into both the perpetual collectibility of the early-'70s Vertigo label catalog and the mid-2000s' growing fascination with British folk-prog of the same era. The trio of Lydon Green,John Stannard, and Ann Stuart, backed by a heavyweight band of folk and classical legends (the redoubtable rhythm section of Danny Thompson and Terry Cox included) An incredible die cut sleeve that unfolds as a poster, is reproduced exactly like the original.
