FIRST PRESSING INDICATORS
My People Were Fair. the very first Tyrannosaurs Rex LP.
recorded in 1968, this is the debut of Marc Bolan and Steve Took. Formerly of John's Children Bolan decided it was time to release some of the songs he had been writing and chose this platfrom to do it.
Very basic band in that you have Bolan on accoustic Guitar and Steve took on Bongos, and other basic items of percussion.
Like Unicorn this Lp also features then Radio 1 DJ John Peel who did just about everything he could to promote this band whom he greatly admired. Indeed it is arguable that without John Peels influence the Bolan phenomena may never have become.
The Lp is in my opinion the most basic of all the 4 Rex albums, which incidentally I have all of them for sale on Ebay at this time. I aquired them, all from the same collector who looked after them very carefully.
Still it is undoubtably a record of some importance in the Bolan timeline.
The sleeve is a laminated front and non laminated back. The Sleeve is without a doubt the most interestic of the 4 albums and has a superb montage of images in very rich colours.
There are a few small crease lines, but nothing horrible, just a normal bit of shelf wear
the back of the sleeve has flipbacks which are in top order. there is some light staining which can be clearly seen in the picture.
The vinyl is in top condition. The labels are as good as you could want them. No spindle hole wear, and only very light spder lines, and not many of them. Full colour red and silver.
The original one page lyric sheet is included and is in mint condition
The vinyl gleams like new, and plays the same way.
The production on these early Bolan albums was incredible. Not only a superb stereo Split, a crystal clear stereo sound,
Near silent run in groove, and the same to be said of the linking grooves.
Super collectors grade LP
