U2 - ANOTHER DAY - MEGA RARE IRISH 7" CBS SINGLE 1980
This is your chance to bid on this super rare early single from the rock legends U2. The single was issued in February 1980 in Ireland by CBS. The group issued their first recordings on the CBS label prior to moving to Island. These early CBS discs are now highly collectable. And here is one of the earliest. The record combines the following tracks which were recorded in DECEMBER 1979: ANOTHER DAY c/w TWILIGHT This is a real slice of rock history up for offers. The record is housed in a picture sleeve designed by BONO. Also included with the record is a great 4 page article by the producer of the tracks CHAS DE WHALLEY which is from the SEPTEMBER 2004 RECORD COLLECTOR. VINYL: The vinyl is in very good condition. There are some scratches and surface marks which do cause the occasional pop & click. My record player does play through the record without sticking. The following matrix numbers are etched into the run out grooves: A Side: "CBS U2 IRL CBS 8306 A-1" B-Side: "CBS 8306. CBS U2 IRL B-1" LABELS: The labels are in excellent condition (see photos). The labels state "Record mfd. in Ireland". SLEEVE: The sleeve is in very good/ excellent condition. There is some corner wear & slight ring wear. As the sleeve is mostly white in colour it does tend to show up the marks more. Overall it looks great, it is flat with no tears, seam splits or writing.
