U2 - BBC IN CONCERT 272 - 1983 - BBC TRANSCRIPTION

This 1983 BBC Transcription Service LP is one of the grails of ultra-rare U2 recordings. Recorded live at The Hammersmith Palais, London, UK, December 6, 1982. As you can see from the photos, this is an authentic and rare “green label” BBC Transcription Disc, not one of the numerous bootleg copies.
Includes original cue sheet (some writing on one side) and the even more rare original hype (bio) sheet! I’ve only found 1 copy of this authentic BBC record that’s sold in the past 10 years, and even that one had a photocopied hype sheet.
Condition: VG+. I NEVER grade played records as NM. I’ve taken some close-up photos of the playing surface. Very clean, with light surface marks visible only under a bright light. I played the record in its entirety on April 9, 2024; plays perfectly with minimal surface noise. I’ve owned (& still own) many of these BBC Transcription “microgroove” 30 minutes per side records; on ALL of them you will hear a small amount of crackle during quiet musical passages. There are a couple of audible clicks on side 2 during “October”, no pops or skips. Jacket is the standard generic die-cut BBC Transcription jacket. No writing on this one, small amount of ring wear. Shipping: Default shipping for records is Canada Post. CAD $35 will cover shipping to Canada, CAD $40 to Continental USA, CAD $65 to Western Europe, CAD $70 to Japan. Unfortunately, shipping items from Canada is very expensive, and ebay also takes their percentage of shipping costs. So if I’m shipping this record to the USA, ebay takes $4 of that $40. These shipping charges cover most (not all) of the cost of shipping and packaging, and are the least expensive TRACKABLE shipping options available. I can ship via other trackable methods if you have a preference (at your cost). If trackable shipping is not available from Canada to your country, I cannot ship to you.
I package records with exceptional care - I use real NEW LP mailers with additional protective cardboard pads. Records are placed in new archival quality inner sleeves (original inner sleeves included when available). For high-value records like this one, I place the record inside a new white die-cut jacket which is packaged next to the cover; this eliminates the possibility of spine and seam damage during shipping.
For buyers outside Canada, you are responsible for any applicable duties, taxes, or other import charges. Item manufactured in UK.
I’ve sold records and a bit of pro audio equipment on eBay over the years; it’s been a while since I listed much of anything. I’m not a broker or bulk buyer/flipper, all of the records I’m selling have been in my personal collection for over 30 years.
