Description
U2 "Jesus Christ" is a megarare 45 RPM vinyl promo single from 1988. The long deleted promo single was made in extremely limited numbers and given to media to promote the album "Folkways: A Vision Shared. A tribute to Woody Guthrie and Leadbelly", and was never for sale. One side of the single contains U2 "Jesus Christ" (3.13), the other side has John Mellencamp "Do Re Mi" (3.23).
"Jesus Christ" is a Woody Guthrie-composition produced by Jimmy Iovine. Both the label and the cover states "U2 appears courtesy of Island Records".
To give an indication of how rare this single is, at the time of writing, respected UK mail order company Esprit (www.eil.com) has a copy of this single (incl. a newsletter) for sale at a price of GBP 75.00 (UK pounds), approx. 156 U.S. dollars.
