U2 Out of Control + 2 CBS 7951 Sunburst 2nd RE EX RARE
CBS Records UK (Ireland?), catalog number 7951, what I believe is the second reissue of U2's debut EP Three, "Out of Control" b/w "Stories For Boys" and "Boy/Girl." Sunburst label, "Made in England" at the end of the copyright blurbage, "Record mfd. in Ireland" below song titles, "U-2" given as the group's name. Matrix numbers A2/B1, BANG 1 etched on runoff of side 2. Almost certainly one of the singles that was issued as part of the first 4 U2 Play singles set so issue date for this pressing of the '79 recordings would be '84 or so. Sleeve EX with small stain front (visible in pic), less than one-inch split bottom center, a little dried glue top of sleeve. Vinyl is also EX, a touch of noise at beginning of both sides but hardly a peep afterwards, very very short and low-amplitude warp that's seen but not heard on my Dual turntable. Cleaned on a VPI machine with my nifty new 45 attachment; we'll get those run-in grooves clean for you. Overall a great copy of a rare single, U2's first. Bid with confidence.
