U2: The Joshua Tree LP (1987 UK First Press)
I bought this when it was originally released back in 1987 and it has been looked after as part of my personal record collection ever since.
The sleeve is in great condition for a 33 year old record, with a fully readable spine (see photos) and only very light storage/ edge wear. Take the time to scroll through all of the photos to get a better idea of the condition. This is the UK first press, indicated by only eight (8) lines of "Thanks to:" text on the back cover and it does NOT have the "Special thanks..." text, nor does it have the asterisk after the song "Red Hill Mining Town" on the back cover. The lack of this text and the lack of the asterisk after the song title indicate that this is the earliest version of this release in a gatefold sleeve.
I have just cleaned it in my professional record cleaning machine with the award winning L'Art Du Son fluid so it is now free from dust and static and in the best possible condition ready for the new owner to enjoy. On close scrutiny under very bright light you can see a few hairlines and faint marks on each side, but nothing to affect the sound. I just test played it all the way through on both sides on my Project Debut Carbon turntable fitted with Ortefon 2M Blue stylus. It sits perfectly flat on the deck and now cleaned plays through beautifully with no skipping, sticking or jumping and only very light, warm crackle on the run ins and very quiet sections.
