U2 - Three - 1979 Irish CBS 7", PS, promotional UK copy?

This is a hard-to-find copy of U2's first single - the 1979 Irish CBS release Three, (Out of Control, Stories for Boys, Boy / Girl), CBS 7951. It is still in its original picture cover. Both the cover and the record are in VG condition. The cover is slightly grubby, but has no rips, scribbles, or grazes. The record has some minor hairline scratches at the start of each side. But nothing major. It has not been mistreated. It has just been played a few times over the years and not kept in pristine condition in a plastic sleeve or whatever. It plays well with just some slight crackling at the start.

I don't know about such things but I think this might be a bit of a rarity / oddity in that while the record is an Irish pressing and was for sale in Ireland, this particular copy seems to have been sent to the UK on purpose as some sort of promotional copy as on the A-side there is sticker that has been stuck over the top half of the CBS label. This reads "Astonishing Label Copy Error. Despite the label U-2 are signed to CBS only for Ireland. The band is free worldwide for recording and publishing. Contact Paul McGuinness, Break Records, 65 Waterloo Rd, Dublin 4. Eire. Tel Dublin 686553 / 687952". Which would imply that the record was sent as a review copy to a broadcaster or similar rather than being on general sale as an import as I doubt that CBS would have allowed that sticker to stay on the record. (Or perhaps I am wrong and maybe all the copies have the stickers on them).

Worldwide airmail is £2.
Proof of posting is always obtained from the post office. Insurance costs extra and is optional.
