A genuine once in a lifetime U2 opportunity. This very collectible 12" is now rarely seen for sale on ebay.

This is likely to be the only ever autographed copy in existance. Only 500 copies of this 12" were pressed by Festival Records (Island Records Australian distributors during the 70's - late 80's). The same company that pressed the ultra rare coloured 12" singles during the early 90's.

Almost all copies were individually numbered by hand and are the most common. But a few, such as this copy for sale, were distributed to some radio stations un-numbered making these rarer still.

A little known fact about this 12" single is that it was distributed to radio stations with the then current edition of Australian Rolling Stone Magazine. This would likely to have been a subscription drive and the 'Trip Through Your Wires' 12" was commissioned by Rolling Stone Australia for this particular promotion as U2 were on the cover and were crowned the magazines band of the year. The Issue number was 417, April 1988 edition. The two are NEVER sold together on ebay, let alone with full band autographs. As yet another added bonus, Bono has included the words "off my chest" next to his signature.

The cover was signed by the band during a radio station promotional visit 2000. Bono & Adam signed in silver paint pen. Larry & Edge signed in black permanent marker. As I obtained these autographs personally, I will not consider including an authentication certificate. They're just not worth the cost of the paper they're printed on. Please feel free to compare the autographs for yourself by checking out this site.

If there should be any doubt to the authenticity of the signatures, I am happy to provide photographic evidence to the winning bidder that shows I was in the bands presence when they signed the cover.  

The condition of the vinyl is mint minus. The A side has been played once only as the B side label shows a single light spindle mark. The B side is unplayed. No markings and is absolutely clean.

The condition of the cover shows some shelf wear around the edges. Being mostly black, it marks quite easilly. There is also some record ring wear. There are some visible minor creases but no rips, splits or major folds and no stickers or pen markings of any kind. The record was originally stored in a radio station library hence the slight storage wear. The cover has been stored in plastic sleeve for best part of the last 18 years to minimise further wear.  Generally in very good condition for a near 20 year old item.

The Rolling Stone is also in excellent condition and has been stored in a plastic cover since new and looks unread.
