Description
1st pressing of U2's first Irish single on CBS Ireland, complete with CBS bag as per first issue.
This record was bought in Golden Discs on Grafton Street in Dublin in October '79. It was part of an initial batch of which allegedly the first 1,000 were numbered (CBS Ireland were a law unto themselves) and although there were numbered copies in the window in that day, I got this unnumbered copy.
It is however a first pressing as the word Ireland is spelled correctly on the label and the names of all four band members appear in the deadwax -on BOTH sides.
See photos for details of tracks; the item is in excellent condition. The years have caused a little ringwear to the sleeve and hairlines to the record but this does not affect the sound in the slightest.
The sleeves bears a sticker which attests to my late seventies cataloging system -and is of course removable.
A rare opportunity to own a genuine first pressing of U2's very first single -unique to Ireland and with unique variants of the tracks.
