WITH MUCH APPRECIATION TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS: If you have a question on orders received, please contact us. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. When leaving Feedback, please consider the following: eBay's policy on the 5-star rating system is anything less than a 5 reduces our standing with eBay and ultimately can affect our selling abilities. SO please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.
We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.
We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday. We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.
TO OUR REPEAT CUSTOMERS: We are happy to hold orders to save on shipping. Please pay your current invoice within five days of auctions ending and, if you request, we will hold your order and reflect a shipping discount for each additional order shipped together in the same parcel.
As always, thank you for your support!
RARE BRITISH 1971 MINT ORIGINAL IN SHINK WRAP
+ POSTER + POSTCARD & INNER SLEEVE
John Lennon
Imagine
...UK - APPLE RECORDS - SW 3379
BEAUTIFUL...*BEST* BRITISH ORIGINAL EVER SEEN....
1971 MINTY CLEAN first press, complete with the large POSTER and postcard and custom designed 2 sided inner sleeve.
'Imagine' is a fine album, perhaps not on the level of 'Plastic Ono Band' as far as immediacy and import, but the title song has touched so many lives and means so much to so many people, that it has had a more lasting cultural effect than a more strident song like 'God' on 'Plastic Ono'. There are compelling reasons that Rolling Stone Magazine rated it as the 3rd greatest song of all time in its '500 Greatest Songs of All Time' list. The song 'Imagine' is anti-religious, anti-nationalistic, anti-capitalistic, but phrased in such a beautiful manner that conservative Republican fundamentalist klansmen sing right along with liberal ex-hippies and Maoists. Well, maybe not klansmen, as they can't read, let alone memorize lyrics. They hum along, I guess.
But beyond the title song, there are two outstanding love songs 'Jealous Guy' (brilliant lyrics) and 'Oh My Love', as well as one of the most scathing attacks upon an ex-bandmate in the history of rock: 'How Do You Sleep?' Referencing Paul McCartney, Lennon spews the biting lines 'The sound you make is muzak to my ears' and 'The only thing you done was yesterday/And since you're gone you're just another day' speak volumes to the attitude Lennon had for much of McCartney's work, and particularly to what Lennon referred to as 'granny songs' (like 'Maxwell's Silver Hammer' and 'When I'm Sixty-four'). Even though Imagine is usually remembered for being a 'softer' and more accessible album than the previous John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, it is not all that lightweight. The stinging guitar of "It's So Hard" is great fun, and the biting "Give Me Some Truth" is one of Lennon's very best. Thee mentioned above rant slagging former Lennon bandmate Paul McCartney in "How Do You Sleep?", the great track that shows this is not all 'chocalate coated for public consumption', as Lennon once said about the album. Imagine is often lauded for it's "introspective" and "truthful" lyrics, while it's production and general musicianship is generally forgotten. Guest musicianship, such as George Harrison's biting guitar solos and Nicky Hopkins' piano, should not be ignored, and neither should the way all these elements are fit together by Phil Spectors' production. Some critics have stated that Lennon makes a good case for best album by a former Beatle.
