Wagner Die Walkure; Furtwangler VPO; Modl, Suthaus, Rysanek, Klose. Superlative performance.
UK HMV ALP 1257/61. Five LP’s in box complete with booklet.
LP’s ALP 1257, 1260 and 1261 have the gold/red labels. LP’s ALP 1258 and 1259 have red semi circle labels. All copies I have seen of this box are like that. It is very probable that no copy exists with all 5 discs gold/red labels.
A few hours later an UK eBayer send me the following message about this: "hi,just to let you know that this set was originally manufactured with all 5 lp's on the red/gold labels.There could have been pressing faults with 2 of the discs and these could have been replaced by emi as the ones i have seen for auction on ebay have always had 1258-9 semi labels in them(the same 2 discs)".
LP’s are in very nice condition and are probably barely played. No spindle marks. Rating vinyl EX++/NM-.
The box has heavy wear at the edges and two cornersplits at underside. Rating box VG+. Booklet has name of previous owner on front and one minor writing inside.
