 ...sci-fi acid-eater & early Hawkwind vocalist Robert Calvert's far-out solo album in which he enlists the entire Hawkwind squad (the famous early crew), along with king cool 'in-men' from the London underground, aptly ARTHUR BROWN, members of PINK FAIRIES ('Twink') and such....

Contains the original metallic-blue custom designed inner sleeve...

First and maybe best album by Robert Calvert & HEAVY FRIENDS. Calverts experience with Hawkwind is truly exposed in these psychedelic heavy / bluesy rock compositions punctuated by humourus narrative interludes. If you like the original sound of the band with Lemmy Kilmister and others this one is for you ("space ritual' era). It can also takes you back to the crazy psychedelic sounds of "spirit of the age" and first demos of the band back at the end of the 60's. For those who are not familiar with Hawkwind, it can be described as a cross between blues, heavy bass attacks and spacey rock of the Floyd. The narrative voices and sketches make this album a little bit different with nice "zappa" influences. The concept of the album is about Air force, war trainings and technology of battle between West Germany and the US.

...Captain Lockheed alternates between octane guzzlers in the classic Hawkwind vein and Monty Python-like vignettes that move the story along. For the songs, since all the key members of classic Hawkwind are actually on here this is a veritable Hawkwind album in all but name, with strongest moments including "The Right Stuff" and "The Aerospaceage Inferno." Brian "Eno" also is on board...

CONDITION: The cover: with inlet lyrics pages in solid condition, just slight prior use, VG++ to "EX" (excellent) only a touch of shelf wear was starting, all solid seams, still looks great, the real deal from 36 years ago, blowing away the cheap single cover US pressing...

The vinyl: all glossy clean, near"EX" (excellent) having only minor hard to see inner sleeve paper scuffs, that's all...TOP END HIGH LEVEL PLAYBACK...takes off into the wind...
