Description

Stunning. No further praise needed from me for this classic set, here offered in like new, essentially perfect condition. Elisabeth Schwarzkopf sings the Marschallin in "Der Rosenkavalier" by Richard Strauss on four discs, UK Columbia SAX 2269-72 on Blue Silver stereo labels. With Otto Edelmann, Christa Ludwig, Teresa Stich-Randall and Eberhard Waechter. Herbert von Karajan conducts the Philharmonia Orchesta.

This was carefully and thoroughly auditioned with a Goldring 1042 cartridge, and Sennheiser 600 headphones/Epos ES-25 speakers.

I hesitate to use superlatives, but here they're deserved--this set's in astonishing condition, a true velvety NM. The four thick, shiny records look perfect--and sound like it, with silent surfaces and brilliant sound. You won't find a better copy anywhere.

The black box is clean, bright & intact with no real wear aside from a couple of tiny, trivial paper separations, thus it's a NM/NM-. The leaflet is NM; here's no libretto (which had to be purchased separately for 7s 6d).

I've added Nitty Gritty inner sleeves to the originals, and slipped the box into a new Japanese mylar resealable outer sleeve.
