This item is:

  • Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau with Karl Engel, (piano)
  • Schubert Lieder Recital No.5
  • Extremely Rare Unissued UK HMV Stereo ASD, 2 x SINGLE SIDED TEST PRESSINGS, complete release
  • Matrix: 2YRA 1602-3 & 2YRA 1603-1
  • Nice copy, records grade EX-, generally a nice copy, nice shiny surfaces, but there are a few mm size marks on each record that will cause some isolated ticks
  • This recording was released in mono only the UK, ALP 1850. It's unknown why this never saw a commercial stereo ASD release
  • Records in the original HMV "Use Emitex" sleeves with matrix numbers in pen; dated in pen 8/9/61 and 15/3/62
  • Comes in an ALP mono sleeve with an EMI Stereophonic sticker on the front
  • As far as I know, this UK test pressing has never been seen for sale before, possibly unique.
  • This is a test pressing and the audio may not be identical to the final release
