Description

- A stereo, 33 1/3 rpm, vinyl LP, Unknown Pleasures" by Joy Version

- Originally released in 1979 on Factory Records, this is a German release from 1981 (distributed by Metronome Musik GmbH)
- The album was recorded over 3 weekends in April 1979 at Strawberry Studios in Stockport, and originally released on June 15th, 1979.
- Produced by Martin Hannett, and engineered by Chris Nagle
- The band consisted of:- Ian Curtis, vocals; Bernard Sumner, guitar, keyboards; Peter Hook, bass guitar, lead vocals on 'Interzone'; Stephen Morris – drums, percussion
- Martin Hannett was responsible for sound effects and synthesisers.

- Cover:
- Black, textured sleeve with the iconic image of pulsar radio waves in its centre.
- The rear cover has a minimalist central image with album title and catalogue number, label and distributor details
- The inner sleeve has similar small, central images on a white background. A Black and white image of an open doorway ('Hand Through a Doorway' by Ralph Gibson) on one side. The other side has a track listing and various credits.
- The sleeve was designed by Peter Saville, with some involvement of the band
- The labels repeat the pulsar image, white on black on side 1 and black on white on side 2.
- Pressed at PRS Hannover, West Germany

- Album title printed as 'Unknown Pleasure' on the spine.
