Description
Rare, unknown rock & roll acetate.
A great 4 track acetate of rock & roll/skiffle. It looks to be a late 50's UK private press that was recorded at Eastwood studios, Worcester park, Surrey (uk).
I can't find out anything about this studio or the company (new era recordings).
There are 4 tracks here, although no track listing, the best I can do is: shake, rattle & roll, lonesome road?, that's why I love you like I do?, hard (drinking) blues?. I can only vouch for the first title as it is a cover.
All tracks are electric guitar, rhythm guitar and a skiffle. No drum kit. Great 2 harmony vocals (male). This could very well be somebody well known who went onto greater things but who knows? I can play the tracks down the phone if you wish. Send a message to arrange.
The band are good though. They certainly know there way around the instruments and the vocals are great. 3 great uptempo tracks here with a slower r&b style bluesy ballad.
The tracks are all pressed on one side of a 10 inch acetate.
Acetate is good. Some background noise and the odd pop. There maybe a jump but it should be able to be cleaned up well.
No cover. Plain only. 33rpm
