Description
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This wonderful LP – a superb collector’s copy – from Philips (416 381-1, Dutch pressing, silver/red label, DDD stereo) features Mitsuko Uchida in sublime accounts of Mozart's Piano Concertos No. 20 in D minor K. 466 and No. 21 in C Major K. 467, both recorded in the warm acoustics of Henry Wood Hall, London in October 1985 with conductor Jeffrey Tate and the English Chamber Orchestra. This is exalted playing by any measure and Uchida’s Mozart can be spoken of in the same breath as that by Fischer, Schnabel, Curzon, and Perahia. The sound is warm and exceedingly well balanced. The liner notes are by producer Erik Smith.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is EXCELLENT++. There is minor bumping/wear at corners and perhaps a small crease or two, but that is all. Otherwise, the album appears almost as new. There are no seamsplits, bends, scuffs, creases, or owners' markings and the jacket remains solid, bright, and glossy – overall, a very handsome collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is near-MINT – overall, a superb collector's copy.
