Description
Ugly Custard
~ Ugly Custard ~
Rare 12" Vinyl LP on Kaleidescope Records KAL100 from 1971. Possibly only 500 to 1000 pressed!
'First Press' - KAL 100 A / B matrixes. There are some intentionally obscured pressing numbers also on each side
Rare Prog / Psych LP by group consisting of four UK studio/session musicians who just released two LPs in 1970/1971.
The band contains mastermind 'Alan Parker' on guitar, drummer 'Clem Cattini', 'Herbie Flowers' on bass and 'Roger Coultham' who provides a heavy organ driven sound.
Hard funky prog rock & blues is the result. All tracks written by 'Alan Parker' apart from the two covers and 'Custard´s last stand' which is by 'Alan Park' & 'Alan Hawkshaw'. This tune is a beefed up version of Alan Hawkshaw & Alan Parkers famous hammond funk library cut 'MOVE MOVE MOVE'.
Very funky, hard sound with screaming hammond workouts, percussive breaks & tunes along with some class blues etc
Condition;
The Record looks to be in around Very Good possibly nudging Very Good Plus Condition.
There are no 'deep' visible scratches but there are some play marks / light scratches each side. I intend to play test the record and update the listing soon.....
Picture Sleeve is in Very Good condition possibly nudging Very Good Plus Condition.
The laminated front looks good and there is only one small bit of edge / spine wear. The matt reverse isn''t perfect - there is a dirty stripe running vertically where the laminate wraps round from the front cover. The bottom edge has had sellotape on it at some time in the past and there is another 'yellowed' stripe and the laminated edge is still tacky. Both the top and bottom edges have become unglued. The cover overall is slightly 'rippled' mainly towards the bottom.
