Description
You are bidding on a 10 inch metal based acetate that contains 6 songs. 4 on one side and 2 on the other. The sleeve has a name written on it which may or may not be one of the artists on the record. The name appears to be Billy Minando ? The sleeve also has the names of the first 2 songs (from the 4 song side) written on it. “24 Hours” and “Best Xmas Yet” and is an awesome Christmas blues song (see pics). The third song might be called “I Was Warned About You.” The forth song might be titled “I Found A Love.” The songs on 2 song side “Same Ole Things All Over Again” might be the title of the first one which plays with at least one skip. The second song on this side might be titled “Baby I Love You” and is only partially on the side (there’s only about 49 seconds of it on there, then it just runs out).
Now for grading. I always try to grade as honestly as possible, plus the song sample should be helpful. The samples were recorded straight off of my Technics SP 10 turntable using a Stanton 681 EEE MK III cartridge tracking at about 1.5 grams. The files were not altered or enhance in any way and were only edited down to 30 seconds to 1 minute of each song. Please remember, this is a 40 something year old metal based acetate and not meant to be played too many times and will play with some amount of background noise. I’ve never heard acetate this age that didn’t play with noise. You should expect this.
The 4 song side: This side is peeling on the first track and this song will not play through without sticking or skipping. This is sad because this is a great, rockin’ blues song with some great guitar too. The other cuts on this side play through without skipping. There is also peeling around the whole on this side. (see pics)
The 2 song side is not suffering form the peeling that the other side has. As stated above, the first song on this side skipped once for me but this can maybe be cleaned. I didn’t try to clean or alter it.
I always pack fragile items of this nature very carefully and they can not be simply packed as some other normal vinyl records are. This might even affect shipping costs.
Due to recent problems when I sold a similar item to a buyer from the UK, I need to establish some “rules” for buying items of this nature from me. I will only deal with buyers who are totally honest and will only deal with the buyer who is associated with the winning Ebay account (i.e. No bidding with your “roommate’s Ebay account). The winner must pay with his own PayPal account (no using some friend’s 3rd party PayPal account). I will deal with the “winner” and his and only his PayPal account. Also, due to my detailed description, pics provided, and song samples, I will not accept the winner having “second thoughts” after he or she wins, pays for, and receives this item. In other words, “you win it, you receive it, it’s yours.”
If this fragile item should sell for a large amount of money, I will expect the winner to pay for costs associated with insurance and a trackable method of shipping.
