Description
Original issue of Fact 10-Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division, their chilling and stunning first album. I bought this in 1979 and have had it ever since. Textured outer sleeve with "Printed and made in Great Britain by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd". The inner sleeve has the rounded corners which I believe are charactersitic of the early issues.
Groove notations:
White label (Inside) - "FACT 10 - INSIDE 1A - A PORKY PRIME CUT - STEP"
Black label (Outside)- "A PORKY PRIME CUT - W-4 - FACT 10 - OUTSIDE 1B - THIS IS THE WAY".
All in all, this has the groove notations, texture, printer's logo and rounded inner sleeve that all point to it being highly unlikely that you could find an earlier issue.
Condition-the outer sleeve has some light wear and a couple of scratches on the back. I would give it 8 out of 10.
The inner sleeve is in overall good physical shape, with no tears. However, it is a bit grubby (I was an art student, see!), so I would give it 6 out of 10.
The disk itself appears visually fine, if a little dusty. I can see no distinct scratches, but therre is a light, diffuse scuff across track three on the 'Outside' i.e. "Candidate". I would score it 8 out of 10.
I don't have a turntable to check how it plays; if you're not happy I'll take it back. I am selling off my complete Factory collection; this is the first time I've ever sold vinyl on Ebay.
