Uriah Heep, Demons and Wizards.
1972 UK pressed Island/Bronze Records stereo LP, ILPS 9193. Early issue with "Manufactured and Distributed by Island Records Ltd." text to bottom of labels.
1U/1U matrix suffixes.
1 LT / 1 LD mothers/stampers.
A really well preserved issue, which appears hardly played and carefully handled and stored.
Vinyl in very near mint condition. Just a very few spider trace marks visible at centre spindle areas, but only at very close inspection. Vinyl surfaces have a rich and bright gloss and are free of any marks save for two or three of the very lightest and tiniest of wispy sleeve removal type scuffs. This, coupled with the lack of any handling marks, points to the LP having an extremely careful owner.
Playback throughout is superb and free of any underlying background noise, ticks or pops. A really nice early press as well, which is strong and full-blooded. Playback has been tested in entirety, and not just sampled.
Labels have a nice and shiny gloss still, and neither has any damage, stickers, inscriptions etc.
Sleeve also in extremely clean condition. This early matt unlaminated gatefold is very prone to wear. Not only has this one survived without tears, sticker or pen marks, but it still has rich and bright colouration and not even any of the usual light dinks and hairlines to any of the surfaces, internal and external. There are no seam splits and edge areas have survived in unusually clean and crisp condition. Not even the usual light chipping marks. Entry side is crisp and unworn with just one miniscule dink. Spine still looks really good, with just a tad of whitening wear to head and foot, but this is the only real area to show any wear.
Inner sleeve is plain paper and free of inscriptions or seam splits, although with some areas of age tanning.
All in all a really super copy which will be very tough to upgrade.

A Note On Grading:Note that audio grading is subjective and based on sensitivity of equipment used for playback. In this instance playback has been tested on a vintage Technics Quartz Direct Drive SL1700 MKII turntable with Shure cartridge, Technics SU-C 03 amp and Technics SB-F2 Linear Phase speakers.
Also note that I generally do not clean vinyl unless so noted. Most vinyl will show improved playback quality with your preferred cleaning method, but I leave this to the prospective buyer, as controversy still surrounds the ideal method of cleaning vinyl.
