KRAFTWERK: Trans-Europe Express. Used vintage LP in Near Mint/Near Mint condition. EMI-Capitol Recs. LP Catalog # SW-11603; 1977
Condition: Vinyl has no real visual flaws, labels pristine. The jacket is free of wrinkles/bends, has partial ring impression on front. The inner sleeve, with printed album credits, has a mild bend at one corner, otherwise basically pristine.
Behind the Music: Kraftwerk? Kraftwerk?!? Well, yes, my taste in music has always been eclectic. Kraftwerk is German for power plant if you didn’t know. Is this music—or these noises if that’s your attitude—really the product of the almost comically “straight-looking” clean-cut lads pictured on the LP jacket and inner sleeve? Personally I have no evidence to the contrary. The title tune got radio play here in the U.S. back in the day (as in nearly five decades ago!). Revisiting this album after all those years yielded the pleasant surprise that there’s actually some witty social commentary at work here. I give you “Showroom Dummies” on Side One as proof. Okay, so they ain’t Devo, but who is??

[NOTE: I clean all LPs with the Record Doctor device, but you will likely find my items rather dusty when they arrive. I have a lot of static electricity in my house, and dust always instantly returns to record surfaces after cleaning! Sorry about that!]
PLEASE NOTE: I will not sell anything for less than $9.99, as it’s not worth packaging the item up and taking it to the Post Office. Sure, you can buy an LP for 50 cents or less at a yard sale, but will it have been cared for like mine? Not likely.
