JOE HENDERSON: Power To the People. Used vintage gatefold LP in Very Good+/Good condition. Milestone Recs. LP Catalog # MSP 9024; 1969. FREE SHIPPING!

Condition: LP has minor aesthetic flaws (hard to describe, not exactly scuffs) which don’t affect sound. Area around spindle hole somewhat wrinkled, perhaps subjected to too many humid NYC Summers in apartments lacking air conditioning? Jacket has hint of ring impression at bottom of front and back; a mild corner crush at lower left as seen from front; some shelf wear on bottom edges. Major flaws are brown stains (see pics) on upper parts of panels of the gatefold interior. I was unable to remove these. As I have been sole owner of this LP since around 1970, I have to take the blame for this. Did I spill some hot chocolate? After all these decades, I just can’t say. The first column of the notes on inside of gatefold are offset into the spine, a manufacturing flaw I am obviously not to blame for.

I discovered the existence of this album when a fellow soldier in my Army barracks in Monterey, CA was playing it on a portable record player. That was in March 1970. As a GI who opposed from within the ranks what my country was doing to the people of Viet Nam, the title of the album alone was enuf to grab my attention. My initial asking price is based on what I found listed on Discogs in early April 2026. I don’t care what eBay recommends I ask. The statistics at Discogs indicate this LP selling at a median price of $150, with far more users of that service indicating they want it than that they own a copy. And there are but six copies listed for sale there! You get free shipping if you cough up $100 or more.
