Description

Khansahib Ustad Abdul Karim Khan

Columbia BEX 256
12 inch, 78 RPM Record made in India.
Ragas: Nari Bahar, Jaunpuri (Jeevanpuri).
Recorded in 1935 in Bombay.

Extremely Rare record of one of the towering giants of North Indian Classical Music. This is from my personal collection, and is in good condition given its age. Being an old 78 RPM disc (and bought used),  it does have some usual surface noise. Center Paper Label on one of the sides is scraped at edge. Record itself is nice and has no major scratches. Plays both sides clearly,  without skipping.

I have played it only on a Thorens TD-124 with an excellent mono 78 cartridge mounted on an SME arm. In other words, it has been well taken care of! Sounds nice with clear, loud vocals.

Will be packed carefully. Shipping (+packaging) charge within US: $7.

Overseas buyers, please contact me for shipping charge. I will only charge what it costs to ship (no inflated shipping charge!).
