VA - NEW MOVEMENTS IN JAZZ
An incredible 4LP document of avant garde and free jazz recorded between 1983-86 during the annual Dutch radio festival. This box set was sent to jazz radio stations around the world for broadcast use only - this was never commercially available, so you can see how rare this is! Jazz artists from all over the world can be found participating over these 8 sides. Some of the notable names: STEVE LACY, GEORGE LEWIS, KENT CARTER, MISHA MENGELBERG, HAN BENNINK, GARRETT LIST and Henry Cow vocalist, DAGMAR KRAUSE. Adventurous music made by top-shelf players. All the records are in NEAR MINT condition and this set comes with a letter explaning the project. For a detailed list of musicians/info, please see the pictures below. Any other questions - just ask! Good luck on the bidding!
Please note that there is a very modest reserve price set because of the historical and rare nature of this item.
Box is VERY GOOD++ with faint radio station call letters/numbers written on the front cover keeping this from a solid NEAR MINT! Solid corners and edges - no splits or tears! A real beauty!
All 4 records are NEAR MINT in archival sleeves! Looks unplayed! No spindle marks! Insert is NEAR MINT!
