Description

The first of the three albums released by VDGG over 1975-6. While the later albums feature the typical Hammill mix of tortured psyches, femmes fatales and nightmare visions, there is usually at least one track that soars into more optimistic territory. Not so, here. This is solid apocalypse, and supremely well done. It starts with "The Undercover Man", an introverted counterpart to Pink Floyd's 'The Wall', moves through a 'Game-of-Thrones'-like manhunt/escape/betrayal/capture/death sequence in "Scorched Earth" and "Arrow", and finishes with the jaunty slip-jig of "The Sleepwalkers". What do our bodies *do* while we are not awake to keep an eye on them? Original UK release, with most of the info on the inner sleeve, not the outer. Minor ring wear on cover.
