VAN MORRISON - ASTRAL WEEKS

US Warner Bros LP     WS 1768     Stereo

This is an original early US pressing. It has the green Warner/Seven Arts first issue boxed "W7" labels. Both sides have "-1C" matrices and it comes housed in its original first issue paste-on cover with a boxed "W7" logo on the back. 

I'm not sure whether this is a very first pressing (who can say with any certainty after 40 plus years?), although Popsike lists many examples like this one as such (with "W7" logos and "-C1" matrices) selling for $100 and upwards.

Low starting price to reflect condition and no reserve - you decide!

RECORD -  VG+   Difficult to grade this one: Side 1 looks close to NM, side 2 has a patch of ultra-fine and light wispery hairlines, and both sides show some light "bag rash" type surface marks and sleeve scuffs visible under bright light. Play-tested throughout - some parts play with background crackle and intermittent clicks and pops, other parts play EX.

LABELS - NM-   Barest hint of spindle wear/rubbing. No stickers or writing.

COVER - VG-   Heavy wear/rubbing and cracking on the seams, spine and corners. Seams beginning to split at the opening edge. Front and back surfaces show similarly heavy ring wear and rubbing and the white back slick has browned with age. No stickers or writing. The original Warner Seven Arts inner sleeve is creased, age-browned and split along the bottom edge.

GRADING SCALE:   M/NM/EX/VG/G(+/-) visual grading only - not play tested unless specifically indicated above. NM is near mint not mint - I do not use M except for an unplayed record.
